Youth Services Programs

 

Snowmen and Penguins  Saturday, January 21 at 1 PM

  Create your own homemade crafting dough and make a snowman. We will also make penguins out of envelopes. Dress for a bit of a mess.


A Special Valentine      Saturday, February 11 at 1 PM

  Using lollipops and heart shapes, we will make a bouquet of flowers and a card to give to your sweetest heart.


Pot of Gold      Saturday, March 17 at 1 PM

  Make a leprechaun pot to store your gold and chocolate at the end of the rainbow.  Bring in a cereal box or shoe box to make a leprechaun trap.


Easter Egg Hunt and Craft  Saturday, April 7 at 1 PM

  After we make a paper bag bunny, we will hunt for Easter Eggs and other treats outside on the Library Green. The hunt portion of this event is weather permitting.  Parents may bring cameras. 


Bracelet & Gift Box for Mom  Saturday, May 12 at 1 PM

  Make a bracelet and a special gift box for your Mom on her special day. If a child needs to make more than one to meet your family situation, please let us know upon registration.


Youth Book and Movie Club
Is the book really better than the movie? Join the Book & Movie Club to find out.
Read popular youth novels that inspired film adaptations. Discussions will stem from the question, “Which is better, the book or the movie?” January 28th - May 5th. Movies will be viewed on the Saturdays at 1 PM.

Reminder: Lyons School District 103 and District 201 Textbooks

The Library has copies of textbooks used by students at all Lyons Elementary District 103 schools and at Morton West High School. These collections are for in-house use only and may not be checked out. To use the collections, a student must present a school issued photo id, which will be held by Library Staff until the books are returned. Unfortunately, student workbooks are not part of the collection.
